CIMA’s submission to the Hong Kong Budget 2025 focuses on the important relationship between skills and growth, and encourages the government to prioritise policies that will nurture a highly skilled workforce in Hong Kong.
Other recommendations include:-
Recognise key professional qualifications, such as CGMA, to attract top talent and boost Hong Kong's status as a business and finance hub.*
Expand tax benefits for self-learning to include online courses from overseas providers, encouraging residents to pursue global qualifications
Extend the Continuing Education Fund (CEF) to fully reimburse tuition and examination fees for professional qualifications like CGMA, CPA, and ESG-related learning.
Introduce Skilled and Professional Apprenticeships
*CGMA is currently recognised at city level in 11 provinces and cities across Mainland China, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Jiangsu Province, Hainan Province, Wuhan, Chengdu, Chongquing, Huizhou and Shanghai Pudong New Area. All have listed the CGMA designation onto their Most Needed Top Talent List.
