The CIMA Gala Dinner held on April 26 was a spectacular event that brought together professionals from the finance and accounting industry at Ireland’s iconic Croke Park Stadium, home at the GAA, in Dublin.
The occasion was honored by the attendance of Sarah Ghosh, FCMA, CGMA, CIMA President and Co-Chair of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, who delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the importance of continuous learning and development in today's rapidly changing business and finance environment.
The presence of the CIMA President at the Gala Dinner added prestige and significance to the event. As a leader in the field of finance and accounting, the President's speech resonated with the audience, emphasizing the need for professionals to stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements. The President's address served as a reminder to all attendees that we must continuously innovate and evolve to advance our profession, to instil integrity and trust into ESG and sustainability, also we must support the next generation and ensure that everyone is treated equitably in being given opportunities to thrive in the profession. Sarah emphasized the organization's mission to promote excellence in management accounting and emphasized the role of CIMA professionals in shaping the future.
The Gala Dinner featured an exclusive keynote speech delivered by Ireland's Minister of Finance, Michael McGrath. Minister McGrath's address provided valuable insights into the country's economic outlook, shedding light on the forthcoming budget and key policy items. Touching upon crucial areas such as Ireland's Finance Strategy, budget and fiscal policies, as well as corporation taxation, Minister McGrath eloquently outlined the government's vision and strategy for navigating through economic challenges and fostering sustainable growth. His speech struck a chord strongly with the audience, emphasising the vital role of effective financial management in driving Ireland's prosperity and global competitiveness.
During the evening, we also celebrated the accomplishments of our CIMA members and CGMA candidates. The award winners were acknowledged by Andrew Harding, FCMA, CGMA, Chief Executive - Management Accounting at the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, for their outstanding achievements. The event provided an opportunity to recognise the hard work and dedication of these individuals who have excelled in their respective fields.
