CIMA-HKICPA reciprocal fee waiver

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of CIMA® in Hong Kong, we are launching a reciprocal fee waiver arrangement with the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA).

This special arrangement reflects our commitment to fostering professional collaboration and enhancing member benefits through the Mutual Examination Paper Exemption (MEPE) arrangement between CIMA and HKICPA.

From Oct. 22, 2025, to March 31, 2026, enjoy the following benefits:

  • HKICPA members get £150 off the HKICPA-CGMA Program package fee (covering both workshop and examination fees) when enrolling under the MEPE arrangement.

  • CIMA members get a fee waiver of the QP assessment fee (HK$1,580 in 2025; HK$1,650 effective Jan. 1, 2026) when enrolling as HKICPA QP students under the MEPE arrangement.

These initiatives mark a significant milestone in our shared journey to support the professional development of accounting and finance professionals in Hong Kong. They underscore the value of the CIMA and HKICPA partnership in advancing global standards and opportunities for members.

How to apply?

For HKICPA members applying for CIMA’s incentive

  1. Gather necessary documentation
    Obtain a letter from HKICPA confirming your status as a member in good standing, including your admission date.

  2. Complete the HKICPA CGMA Program application form

  3. Submit your application and all required documents to CIMA HK

    1. Verify all information is accurate and complete.

    2. Email your completed application form and required documents to hongkong@aicpa-cima.com by 31 March 2026.

  4. Confirm eligibility
    CIMA will review the application within 10 days; upon approval, the £150 discount will be automatically applied to the total fee which should be paid by the applicant within 7 days of the approval notice.

For CIMA members applying for HKICPA’s QP fee waiver

  1. Gather necessary document
    Obtain a preliminary assessment of your eligibility for the Institute's membership under the MEPE agreement

  2. Submit QP registration
    Complete the HKICPA QP student registration by selecting “CIMA” as the registration route

  3. Provide CIMA membership proof
    Upload the active CIMA membership status proof and other required documents specified in the application platform

  4. Entitle for the waiver
    The QP assessment fee will be automatically waived and only need to pay the application fee (2025: HK$950) at the time of application.
