NEW YORK (August 29, 2023) — AICPA® & CIMA® have opened registration for the Accounting Pipeline Diversity Symposium, scheduled to take place from Wednesday, October 25, through Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the Hilton Peachtree City Atlanta Hotel & Conference Center. This one-of-a-kind experience brings together professionals from across the accounting and finance profession to collaborate and explore the best practices for nurturing a sustainable and diverse talent pool. Registration will be open until the week before the event.
“This Symposium, run under the leadership of the AICPA National Commission on Diversity and Inclusion, serves as a catalyst of ideas and communication. Participants will not only have the opportunity to hear from leading experts in the field, but they will also have the unique opportunity to mentor and inspire the future generation of professionals,” says Crystal Cooke, Director of Diversity, and Inclusion at AICPA & CIMA. The APDS runs concurrently with our annual (in its 28th year) Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop (ASLW), where over 100 bright and talented ethnically diverse accounting students will be in attendance. These aspiring professionals are eager to learn more about the accounting and finance field, enhance their professional skills, and forge connections with peers and experts who share their interests.
Additionally, this event provides the opportunity to learn about the initiatives and efforts underway at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to further develop a diverse and thriving pipeline.
“The APDS is a great way to share and learn leading practices for attracting, recruiting, and retaining top talent in our profession. It is also a tremendous opportunity to engage with students from across the country and gain insights from their perspectives. In one place, we have students, leaders from across the profession, educators, and recruiting professionals—the synergy is off the charts,” says Kimberly Ellison-Taylor, CEO, KET Solutions, LLC & National Commission on Diversity, and Inclusion Chair.
