Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) Designation Recognition is Published on the Matching List of International Qualifications and China Professional Titles

19 October 2023, Shanghai - Shanghai Human Resources and Social Security Bureau (Shanghai HRSSB) recently issued an announcement for high-level talents holding international professional qualifications and China professional titles matching list recognition.

According to the official Shanghai HRSSB Announcement, CGMA designation holders and exam complete candidates who have passed the CIMA CGMA Professional Qualification (PQ) strategic level examination, are included in the " A List of Shanghai Overseas Professional Qualification Certification Recognition”. CGMAs who are Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) will also be included in the Category B list and Category C list and corresponding to the Professional Title Level.

All qualified high-level talents in China, including CGMA and CIMA PQ candidates with exam complete status will be entitled to relevant policies, measures and benefits, such as the fast track for Shanghai residency, the mutual recognition of professional experience in and outside China, and the priority for the application of Shanghai Top Talent Plan projects.

The policy encourages holders of international qualifications, such as CGMA designation holders, to develop their careers and life in Shanghai, promoting the internationalization of the city as an international financial and business center.

The policy aims to bring more international vision and expertise to China's accounting and finance sector. It will help to promote the development of the profession and improve the international competitiveness of enterprises. It will also provide more opportunities for AICPA & CIMA to explore and support the China market, helping more Chinese finance and accounting professionals to meet the growing needs of digital transformation and sustainability.
