AICPA’s ‘Josi’ Provides Streamlined Access to 40,000 Materials on Accounting and Auditing
GenAI Research Tool Offers Information and Insights from AICPA’s Professional Library
NEW YORK (Oct. 27, 2025) – The American Institute of CPAs has created an artificial intelligence-enabled tool, Josi, that provides secure, direct access to the AICPA’s professional standards, authoritative guidance and related information.
The tool uses Generative AI in a Large Language Model that, in addition to providing accelerated research and summaries, functions as a learning tool and key component of workflow automation. Because it only draws from the AICPA’s online professional library – a curated trove of more than 40,000 accounting and auditing materials – it delivers improved results and a greater degree of confidence the information is accurate and up to date.
“AI has changed the rules on how businesses operate,” said Tom Hood, the AICPA and CIMA’s executive vice president of business engagement and growth. “CPAs need a fast, modern way to find answers to their most pressing accounting and auditing questions, and Josi is tailormade to fill that need.”
CPAs, management accountants and their staff can use the GenAI tool to help generate engagement letters, research complex accounting questions, prepare for the upcoming quality management standards changes, and more. Josi even simplifies and gives direct access to Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) codifications, which can be reached directly within the tool.
Small to mid-size accounting firms in particular will benefit from Josi, which is priced to provide an easy entry point for accounting professionals looking to leverage modern technology and reliable information. Over 400 accounting firms of varying sizes have either bought, trialed or had a demo of Josi since its launch.
Among the materials the tool provides access to are:
AICPA audit, attest, preparation, compilation, review and quality management standards
AICPA Code of Professional Conduct
AICPA accounting and audit guides
FASB accounting standards
Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards
Josi is named after Josiah Wedgwood, the 18th century potter and entrepreneur who is known as the father of cost accounting. To learn more, visit https://josi.aicpa-cima.com/
