Under the automatic disciplinary provisions of the Institute’s bylaws, Mr. Gentile’s AICPA membership was suspended effective August 28, 2025, pending the outcome of his appeal of the court’s decision. This action was taken following a final judgment of conviction for a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than one year. Mr. Gentile was found guilty of violating Title 18 U.S.C. §371 – Conspiracy to Commit Securities Fraud; Title 18 U.S.C. §§ 1349 and 1343 - Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud; Title 15 U.S.C. §§ 78j(b) and 78ff – Securities Fraud; and Title 18 U.S.C. § 1343 – Wire Fraud.
