As members of the American Institute of CPAs, we share an invisible bond.
We may not have the same credentials or designations, work with the same clients or at the same organizations, or live in the same area or even in the same country, but we are connected to a global group of accounting and finance professionals.

Being an active member for more than 40 years has enriched my career. I have expanded my network, increased my knowledge and worked to strengthen the accounting profession.

AICPA membership has given me the opportunity to meet other like-minded leaders in accounting and finance, and serving on committees has allowed me to build and strengthen relationships with peers.

I’ve joined groups, namely the National Peer Review Committee and PCPS Executive Committee, made up of exceptionally talented professionals that align with my passions and practice. In collaborating with leaders from firms across the country, I’ve shared insights and ideas, and I’ve learned tactics and strategies to bring back to my firm.

Getting involved in our professional network exposed me to new ways of thinking and revealed strengths and interests that I didn’t know I had. I believe that no matter where you are in your career, it is vital to keep your skills sharp and stay apprised of developments and updates across the profession.

In addition to the different CPE options and learning solutions, I’ve learned from other firms that grew their business practices by expanding into nontraditional services. And I have followed the vision of inspiring AICPA & CIMA leaders by implementing value-added services within my firm.

We are part of an organization that influences and informs government officials, regulators and policymakers, advocating for the future of our profession. We shape the future of our profession by influencing the next generation of CPAs and CGMA designation holders. And we are also raising our voice worldwide. Through the Association, we are better positioned than ever to lead sound policy on a global scale.

By volunteering and getting involved as a mentor, educator or committee member, we transform the global accounting and finance profession.

There is strength in numbers and active membership helps our profession remain strong. We can encourage future accounting professionals to join our valued and trusted profession.

My experiences working with top leaders in the profession, like you, have allowed me to create a career beyond my most ambitious goals. Through our invisible bond as members, you and I can support each other and create opportunities to be better. Thank you, and I look forward to our continued connection.
