Under the automatic disciplinary provisions of the Institute’s bylaws, Mr. Trifilo’s AICPA membership was terminated effective September 9, 2025. This action was taken following a final judgment of conviction for a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than one year. Mr. Trifilo pleaded guilty to violating Title 18 U.S.C. §1014 – False Statements in Connection with Loan Application, and Title 26, §7203 – Failure to File a Tax Return.
