Olorato Patience Sekgwama has placed among the top 10 CGMA candidates worldwide in the CGMA Strategic Level Case Study Exam – the first ever from Botswana to achieve this distinction. Her exceptional performance earned her joint eighth place globally in the final capstone of the CGMA Professional Qualification, marking a significant milestone on her journey to becoming a CGMA designation holder.
The CGMA designation, established in 2012 by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), recognises a select group of accounting and finance professionals who have reached the highest benchmark of quality and competence. Built on extensive global research, the qualification is designed to ensure relevance with employers and equip candidates with essential business, digital, people, and leadership skills to thrive in today’s fast-evolving finance landscape.
Olorato Patience Sekgwama, CGMA candidate, shared:
“It is an incredible honour to be ranked among the top 10 CGMA candidates globally. The Strategic Level Case Study Exam was demanding but worthwhile, it tested not only my technical knowledge, but my ability to think critically and solve real-world business challenges. I am proud of this achievement and excited to continue my journey towards earning the CGMA designation and applying what I’ve learned to drive positive change in my career, organisation, and community.”
Letus Chinyepi, Country Director – Botswana at The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, commented:
