As always, the IRS carefully monitors the Form 990 filings of a nonprofit as they are continuing to use data and queries to select which information tax returns to audit. This allows the IRS Tax Exempt and Government Entities Division (TE/GE) to best allocate resources so they can focus on issues that have the greatest impact. TE/GE is committed to integrating data and using information tax return data and historical information to identify the highest risk areas of nonprofit noncompliance.
