The Panel of Assessors for the Practising Certificate supports the Professional Standards Committee by assessing practising certificate applications and helping maintain the quality and consistency of decisions in this area. Made up of experienced practising certificate holders, the Panel reviews applications against the relevant Byelaws and Regulations, provides guidance to applicants where requirements are not yet met, and ensures assessments are completed within the required timeframe. The Chair and Vice Chair also oversee quality assurance activity, consider marginal or non-compliant cases, and recommend improvements to the process, helping to ensure that the practising certificate regime is applied fairly, proportionately and effectively.
