Scott M. Adair, CPA, was appointed to the position of chief financial officer of the Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority (a component unit of the State of New York) in January 2013. In his position as CFO, Scott is responsible for all aspects of the RGRTA’s financial reporting, procurement, and budgeting.
Prior to joining the RGRTA, Scott spent 8 years in various capacities with Monroe County, including his last 4 years there as the CFO.
Prior to joining government, Scott was a senior manager with KPMG LLP in Rochester. Scott spent 16 years in public accounting, focusing his career on the practice of governmental and not-for-profit audits. Scott’s clients included the State of New York, the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, numerous New York state counties, and various colleges and universities.
Scott is an active member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, serving as president of the society in 2015. He serves as a board member of the Baden Street Settlement House and a board member/treasurer of Discovery Charter School. Scott was elected to serve on the board of education of the Rush Henrietta Central School District in 2021.
Scott received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 1988.
