Professional responsibilities for AICPA members and members’ firms

At its December 2025 interim meeting, the AICPA Professional Ethics Executive Committee approved the release of an exposure draft with proposed revisions to the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct regarding alternative practice structures. Comments are due April 30. The AICPA hosted a webcast on March 2 to explain the exposure draft’s key proposed changes. Effects on CPA firms’ peer reviews

A new peer review standard, Peer Review Standards Update (PRSU) No. 3, Modernizing Peer Review Administration Requirements, includes provisions regarding peer reviews of APSs (see pages 8–9 of the standard). A recorded webcast for peer reviewers highlights these changes and discusses what peer reviewers look for when reviewing firms in an APS. The webcast’s slide deck is also available as a PDF download.
