On Nov. 12, 2025, President Trump signed a government funding package that officially ended the 43-day government shutdown. The legislation secures operations for most agencies through Jan. 30, 2026, and provides full-year funding for three others. The deal restores pay for over a million furloughed employees and resumes critical programs such as food assistance and transportation services. The AICPA continues to closely monitor developments. The bipartisan funding agreement means that agencies will re-open and resume regulatory, enforcement and grant activities.
