CIMA’s CGMA® Professional Qualification

Take a look at our free exam and question tutorials to familiarise yourself with the computer-based exam software and the types of questions you will get in each exam. For exam practice, we recommend purchasing CIMA’s CGMA aptitude assessment, which offers mock exams that are available in practice mode or timed assessment.

On-demand Objective Tests are available year round. Case Study Exams are available in four windows throughout the year.

Exams can be sat at nearly 6,000 Pearson VUE assessment centres in over 180 countries worldwide.

You can take the three Objective Tests at each level in any order. However, you must pass all three before you can take the Case Study Exam.

With dedication and a solid study plan, you should aim to complete a level a year (or within a 12-month period).

If you intend on self-studying, the following suggested hours may help in your planning.

You can complete each level with a total of 550 hours of studying:

Three Objective Tests:
150 hours per subject × 3 = 450 hours

Each Case Study Exam:
100 hours (20 hours per subject × 3 = 60 hours to recap theory learned for your Objective Tests +40 hours preparation for the Case Study Exam)

To complete a level in 12 months:
We recommend that you allocate 10–15 hours per week for self-study.

You can schedule all Certificate in Business Accounting and Professional Qualification exams online and over the phone in four easy steps.

1. Sign into your My Profile account

Sign in to your account using your email address and password. Sign in here

2. Select your exam

From your Exams dashboard select the exam and click ‘book now’. Confirm your details are up-to-date on your account. Read and agree to the Exam Terms and Conditions

3. Schedule your exam

You will be transferred to the PearsonVUE website where you can select your exam location, date and time–don't worry, you won’t need to sign in again.

4. Complete your booking

You’ll choose the exam you want to sit and go through the payment and booking process. Once your booking has been processed you will be transferred back to your account.

You can schedule an exam over the phone by calling our Global Engagement Centre
. We will request a few details then transfer you to Pearson VUE who will schedule your exam and take your payment over the phone.

Confirmation
Once you have scheduled your exam - whether online or by phone - you will receive an email from Pearson VUE confirming the exam centre, date and time of your scheduled exam.

If you need to reschedule an exam log in to your My Profile account. You can reschedule an exam:

• Up to 48 hours before a Certificate in Business Accounting exam Up to 48 hours before an Objective Test

• While the exam registration period is open for Case Study exam

You cannot reschedule an exam later than these times.

Objective Tests

Objective Tests are computer marked, so as soon as you complete anObjective Test, you will receive a provisional exam result of either ‘pass’ or ‘fail’ at the Pearson VUE assessment centre. No more than 48 hours later, your results will be ratified and appear on MyProfile, where you will also be able to see your scaled score (a score out of 150, with 100 the minimum to pass) and performance broken down by syllabus topic area.

Case Study Exams

Case Study Exams are humanmarked. You will receive your results 6–8 weeks after the close of the case study window on your MyProfileaccount. Your results will include the following:

• A grade of ‘pass’ or ‘fail’

• A scaled score between 0 and 150 (80 required to pass)

• An indication of your performance against each core activity

After you’ve sat an Objective Test, whether you pass or not, give yourself a break before you attempt the next Objective Test or a re-sit.

If you pass your Operational or Management Case StudyExam, you will be ready to move onto the next level. If you need to re-sit aCase Study Exam, you will need to schedule a sitting in one of the next two windows.

If you pass your Strategic Case Study Exam, you should start thinking about your practical experience requirements (PER) and applying for membership.
