Tony Boras
CPA
Tony Boras is a Partner in Crowe’s National Office, where he provides technical guidance to professionals and clients nationwide on governmental accounting and auditing matters. He specializes in helping governments and auditors apply complex standards in practical, workable ways, with particular expertise in GASB Statement implementation, Yellow Book audits, Uniform Guidance, and AICPA standards. Tony serves as Chair of the AICPA State and Local Government Expert Panel and is actively involved in addressing emerging issues impacting the public sector. He has authored technical publications and comment letters on proposed accounting and auditing standards and regularly advises on implementation challenges facing state and local governments. A frequent speaker for organizations including the AICPA, Tony translates highly technical guidance into clear, everyday language. His presentations focus on what the standards mean in practice, helping audiences move beyond theory to real-world application. Prior to joining Crowe’s National Office, Tony led audit and consulting engagements for a wide range of governmental entities. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Marquette University.
Brandon Young
CPA
Brandon provides consulting and oversees audit and accounting services for state and local governments and municipalities. In addition to being a team player, he often finds himself coaching new employees and clients as they tackle technical matters. Brandon brings new ways to help his clients fill the day-to-day gaps in their finance department while adding value to their finance team. This could include interim staffing, process automation, and other creative solutions that can keep departments afloat during times of high turnover or recruiting challenges. He documents procedures to improve processes, solidify controls, and provide clarity and consistency to finance departments. Brandon is passionate about helping clients think outside the box to advance their department and forge a path forward that is consistent, sustainable, and leverages current resources.
Amy Sutherland
CPA
Amy is a Director at Moss Adams and a member of the firm’s Government and Not-for-Profit Group. She focuses on delivering assurance and business consulting services to a variety of not-for-profit entities, governmental entities, and Tribal governments and organizations. Her expertise includes GAAP pertinent to not-for-profit and governmental entities; federal compliance audits; and regulatory and statutory accounting and reporting. In her role in the firm’s national office, she supports the firm’s assurance practice by participating in technical consultations on complex audit and accounting matters; and monitoring for updates to audit and attestation standards, and changes in federal program compliance requirements. She also assists in managing continuing education programs on a variety of subjects for all levels of assurance professionals. Amy is an active member in the AICPA, the Washington Society of Public Accountants, and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
