Marissa Lenius is a Senior Manager in the Tax Controversy Group in RSM US LLP’s Washington National Tax practice. Marissa brings over a decade of experience as an attorney with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel to her role guiding RSM clients through tax controversy matters. Marissa leads the firm’s Employee Retention Credit IRS Controversy practice, as well as handles IRS examinations, Appeals, Private Letter Ruling requests, and penalty abatement work.
Kimberly Thomas
CPA
Kimberly S. Thomas, Senior Manager, has practiced in public accounting for over 13 years. She primarily catered to clients with estate, gift, and trust but now focuses on using her legal background to navigate the practices and procedures of the IRS in the field of tax controversy. Kimberly received a bachelor’s in accounting at Grambling State University and Master of Laws in taxation at the University of Houston Law Center. Prior to this, she earned her J.D. degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2010. She is a CPA with eminent professional memberships and affiliations at the AICPA and The Florida Bar. She also holds an Estate Planning Certificate from the AICPA.
