Volunteer with the AICPA Government Performance and Accountability Committee (GPAC) — 2027–2028
We serve the public, who depend on CPAs to help ensure government accountability.
Join an enriching committee of subject matter experts for comradery, networking, and knowledge sharing. AICPA and CIMA members are invited to submit their applications for the 2027–2028 term, starting June 1, 2026.

GPAC’s objective: Represent CPAs working in all levels of federal, state, and local government.
GPAC’s mission:
Promote greater government accountability and the integrity of government operations, information, and information systems.
Promote and encourage increased participation and involvement by CPAs in government within the AICPA.
Enhance the professional image and value of CPAs in government.
Provide advice and counsel to the AICPA on the needs of CPAs in government.
Serve as a conduit for communications among CPAs in government, the AICPA, and other professional organizations.
Eligibility requirements: (1) Be a member of the AICPA or CIMA and (2) be working within the public sector (at any level of government); within the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO); in academia with expertise in governmental accounting; or in public accounting, serving government and government-sponsored entities
The volunteer year: May to May, or Spring Council to Spring Council
Term for volunteering: Three years, renewable each year
Number of meetings per year: Two committee sessions
Meeting format: GPAC is held in May and September each year, with meeting discussions and presentations occurring over two days.
Annual time commitment: Four half-day online meetings; additional meetings as required for subcommittee work
